The things Dylan says...

My little man is starting to get so big! He is really talking a lot now. We are always surprised at the new things he says. Here are a few things you might hear Dylan saying in our house:
Tonight at dinner Dylan stood up in his high chair. Jeff told him to sit down. Dylan smiled. Jeff said "ONE!" Dylan said "twooooo." Jeff said "TWO!" Dylan said "threeeee." We were laughing to hard we were nearly in tears! :)
While playing with a light switch Dylan now says: "up" "down"
Other favorite words include:
Chachi
ball
dog
car
woof woof
baby
Lillia

First Lost Tooth!

Emma lost her first tooth!! It was a pretty stressful event for Emma. I didn't even know it was loose. She was sitting on the couch crying and chewing on a towel. When I asked her what the problem was she said that her tooth fell out. We made a big deal out of it and asked her if she wanted to put it under her pillow. She said "No. But if you want to come in my room while I'm sleeping and give me money you can."
Dylan 18 months

Dylan had his 18 month doctors appointment. He got 4 shots (including his flu shot), and he did great! He didn't cry at all, he only whimpered a little at the very end! Emma and Bryson were also able to get their flu shots while we were there. Bryson didn't cry at all, but Emma wailed.
Dylan is now
- 23 pounds 4 ounces (about the 25 percentile)
- 32 inches tall (about the 50th percentile)
At Bryson's 18 month appointment he was
- 25 pounds 8 ounces (50%)
- 33 1/4 inches tall (75%)
At Emma's 18 month appointment she was
- 21 pounds 8 ounces
- 32 3/4 inches tall
Dylan is talking a lot now. Some of the words he can say are:
Let's go!
Daddy
eyes
nose
Mama (but not very often)
Chachi
all done
cheese
please
cup
cookie
duck
woof

Homemade Slime! (also called Glurch)

-----------------------
below: Bryson made a snake with his blue slime

I got this recipe from a friend of mine, although there are other similar recipes online if you google "glurch." The kids LOVED this!
In small container mix:
1 tsp borax
1/2 cup water
In large container mix:
1/2 cup elmers glue
1/2 cup water
food coloring (optional)
Pour contents of small container into large container. Stir with your hands. The slime will start to gel and you will have excess water. Remove slime from the bowl (letting excess water drip from it) and place in a dry bowl. Once excess water has been removed your slime is ready!
It can be pulled, cut, and molded. You can play with it like playdoh. It will look shiny. Store your slime in a plastic bag or other air tight container. It will last several weeks.

Emma-ism

I have been praying with Emma every night since she has been anxious about school starting. Each night I have asked her if she wanted to pray, and she always said no. So I was praying that she would enjoy school, like her teacher, and make friends quickly. Tonight, after reading a book about a little girl named Molly who had a good first day of Kindergarten, Emma decided that she wanted to pray. This was her prayer:
"Dear God, I pray that I would be like Molly and have a great time at school. And I pray that I would take Jesus in my heart with me."
I think she will be just fine... 2 more days until she starts!
