6 months!

Today I dropped Emma and Bryson off at my mom's house, and took Dylan to the doctor for his 6 month check up. The nurses were all over him as he gave his famous big, gummy smile. He did well at the appointment, even smiling at the nurse right after getting his shots (he gave a little whimper, but no tears!).

Dylan and Bryson were the same height and weight at their 2 and 4 month appointments, and yet again at the 6 month! Even their head size was the same! Dylan weighs 17 pounds, 4 ounces and in the 50th% for his weight. He is 27 inches long and in the 75th% for his height. His head circumference is 41 centimeters (which I believe is only around the 5-10th%).

I can't believe how fast Dylan is growing up. There have been many changes with him recently. Dylan began sitting up when he was 4 1/2 months old, but he is really good at it now. He can sit for long periods of time. However, when he wants to get down he just throws himself backwards, so we still have to be careful when he is sitting alone. He is not crawling, but he can get around really well since has mastered rolling in both directions. If you put Dylan on the floor and walk away he will be on the other side of the room when you come back. He is also starting to push up pretty high while laying on his tummy. He isn't quite up on his knees yet, but he can get his tummy up off of the floor!

Dylan is eating solids now. He wasn't a very big fan of it at first, but he is starting to get the hang of it now. He has already enjoyed: rice cereal, bananas, applesauce, prunes, green beans, sweet potatoes, and squash. We will start peas next. His least favorite so far is the green beans.

Dylan seems to still be having problems with his reflux. He has been spitting up more and more, and getting stiff and grunting when he eats. After talking to his doctor today we are going to increase his dosage of medicine and give it to him 3 times a day instead of 2.

His personality is still pretty much the same. He is very happy most of the time, and very mellow. He likes to stand and jump. He loves Emma and Bryson and they frequently make him laugh. He is also very ticklish. His tickle spots are in his armpits and in his neck. He has the best smile and laugh!
